Course Description:

“Introduction to Space” is a beginner-friendly digital course that takes you on an exciting journey through the cosmos. Whether you're a space enthusiast, a student, or just curious about the universe, this course will provide you with a solid foundation in space science and exploration. By the end of the course, you'll have a better understanding of the fundamental concepts and discoveries in space exploration as well as why researchers are so fascinated with world’s beyond our own.

Course Learning Objectives:

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Define fundamental space-related terminology and concepts.

  2. Explain the structure and composition of our solar system.

  3. Describe the history of space exploration and key milestones.

  4. Identify prominent celestial objects, stars, and planets.

  5. Understand the basic principles of orbital mechanics.

  6. Discuss the challenges and possibilities of human space travel.

  7. Explore the mysteries of dark matter, dark energy, and black holes.

  8. Recognize the importance of international cooperation in space exploration.

  9. Engage in informed discussions about space-related current events.

  10. Create awareness of careers and opportunities in the space industry.

The course will include a “Vocabulary Link” to our space-related glossary.

All participants who complete this course will be eligible for an accredited Certificate of Completion issued by Moon Trades and our partner organization: Global STEM Initiative (GSI). All final assessments and certification eligibility meet CPD accreditation standards and can be used internationally to further your academic knowledge in the realm of space sciences.
